Cultus was conceived as an evolution of Chianti Classico Riserva, the result of a journey that began years ago and has matured through experience and adaptation. It is a wine that responds to the challenges of climate change with rigor, careful selection, and a more focused use of historic indigenous varieties that, in Chianti, have always accompanied Sangiovese. The grapes come from selected parcels in the historic vineyards of Monti, where Sangiovese finds ideal conditions of exposure, altitude, and soil composition.

The distillation of grape pomace has ancient origins, and Tuscan rural tradition is rich in stories associated with grappa. Once regarded in folk culture as a remedy against the cold and a digestive aid—so much so that it was known as the "poor man's doctor"—this spirit has, over time, evolved into a refined product of exceptional quality. Today, it represents one of the finest expressions of Italian distilling craftsmanship, combining centuries-old tradition with meticulous production techniques.

Long before gin became an icon of English tradition, the “spirit of the woods” had its roots in the herbal knowledge preserved by monks. In the forests of Chianti, the Vallombrosan monks gathered wild juniper along with rosemary, sage, vine leaves, and other aromatic botanicals, carefully selected for their beneficial properties and rich fragrances. Inspired by this ancient tradition, this distilled spirit captures the authenticity of the region, combining notes of rosemary and vine leaf in an elegant and distinctive aromatic profile.
